"Ben Has Something to Say"

Ben doesn't talk much at school, but looks forward to telling his father about his day because his father won't make fun of his stutter.  Ben does not like to read aloud at school and finds ways to avoid having to endure this trauma so no one would hear him stutter.
"Stuttering is a communication disorder that has long defied definitions that could encompass its complex nature. Therefore, it is important to understand what stuttering is not."

"Stuttering is not predictable, caused by parents, caused by talking two fast or an emotional disorder. Avoid giving advice such as "slow down" or "take a deep breath". Such ideas are simplistic answers to a complex problem, and ar not helpful to the person who stutters."

Please check around at your local bookstore, on the internet or in the library for this wonderful book.
